Not much out there today, so here’s a link to an article on The Register-Herald’s (Beckley, West Virginia’s #1 news source) site about Kris Allen (some guy who used to sing for The Marshall Tucker Band) and his expert theories on Bigfoot. Its title: “Is West Virginia part of Bigfoot’s migration route?”
Bullet points:
- He claims to have seen “half a dozen” Bigfoots (Bigfeet? I still don’t know…), all in West Virginia.
- Bigfeet “have been seen in every state and every foreign country.”
- He is involved in “a 3-D documentary [about Bigfoot] produced by Goldenleaf and Pixar.”
- He’s not saying Goliath was a Bigfoot, but he says Goliath was a Bigfoot.
So yeah… Just about everything he says in the article is at best questionable.
What really puzzles me is that two reporters (Mannix Porterfield and Jessica Farrish) worked on this story. Two reporters on a fluff piece, and they didn’t have time to do any fact-checking, ask any follow-up questions, or talk to anyone else about any of the claims made.
And people wonder why newspapers are dying.
